Park Court
This was an interesting project as it incorporated a number of unusual elements. It was formerly a large 130 sqm live/work unit with three-meter high ceilings and split over two levels. The living accommodation was contained on the ground floor while the lower ground floor comprised a large open plan studio space. Similar units in the building are currently used as artist studios. The property was very dated in terms of the internal finishes which were low quality.
The Client’s brief here was to significantly upgrade the living accommodation element of the space while maintaining the character and open plan feel of the large studio space, effectively combining both elements harmoniously while ensuring the unit could still successfully facilitate both uses.
We reconfigured the ground floor space to eliminate the excessive cupboard spaces and create a spacious entrance hall, a large main bathroom and two exceptionally large bedrooms. We replaced the rickety old spiral case with a new custom fitted version imported from Italy. We also moved the kitchen and living/dining area to the lower ground floor. In addition to the layout changes, we completely refurbished the unit, installing a new kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, tiling and generally upgrading all internal finishes.
